At Rohitha Gems, our journey began not with a business plan, but with a passion for the art of gem cutting. It was February 1984 in Ratnapura, the legendary "City of Gems," when our founder, Rohitha Perera, started a small-scale operation with nothing but his hands and an unwavering commitment to his craft.
By 1986, we had evolved, adding two gem cutting machines to our workshop. This wasn't just an upgrade in equipment; it was a commitment to our future, a step toward bringing the brilliance hidden within each rough stone to life. Over the years, our dedication to quality and precision built a reputation for excellence.
In 1997, our growing enterprise was formally recognized as Largest cutting industries in Sri Lanka, and today, we proudly stand as Rohitha Gems. Our name honors the man who began this legacy and the heritage of Sri Lanka's world-renowned gem industry.
